Oceania Tahitian Legends Cruise – 10 Days
In January 2025, my wife and I journeyed to the beautiful Islands of French Polynesia. This has always been on my bucket list and what a superb way to see these islands then on a cruise vacation. We did just that, choosing a …
Oceania Tahitian Legends Cruise
We had an amazing 10 day voyage, sailing on their beautiful smaller ship, the: Nautica
About Oceania Cruises
Oceania Cruises was founded in 2002 and is based in Miami, Florida. They have a fleet of seven smaller luxurious ships and operate itineraries worldwide.
“Oceania Cruises is a luxury cruise line known for its small, luxurious ships, destination-rich itineraries, and gourmet culinary experiences, featuring cuisine curated by Master Chef Jacques Pépin.”
Their beautiful mid size ships carry approximately 684 to 1,250 passengers only, with a reputation for having the finest cuisine at sea.
All dining venues have a nice country club-casual dress code, so no need for suits and dinner dresses, only at your discretion.
They also have a very high staff-to-guest ratio, to ensure the best in personalized customer service always.
Sailing On The Oceania Cruises Nautica
Our ship was the beautiful smaller class vessel, the Nautica. Refurbished in 2022, the interior was absolutely exquisite looking, as you will see in my photos below.
This ship carried 684 guests with a staff of about 400, giving it a guest to staff ratio of: 1.71 to 1.
Amazing!
Below, is a brief look at our wonderful 10 cruise, departing to/from the city of Papeete in Tahiti.
Boarding Oceania Nautica
After spending a superb first week on the beautiful quaint island of Moorea, we hopped the fast ferry back to Tahiti. This is where we were to board the ship in Papeete, to begin our Oceania Tahitian Legends Cruise. This bustling city is the Capital of French Polynesia and the largest of all the islands.
After boarding and checking out our very comfy looking cabin, it was time to enjoy our first lunch in the buffet.
The selection presented for guests was incredible!
This was the case for all meals we enjoyed in the buffet, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We really liked the outside seating available here, to enjoy the fresh air and view!
As a matter of fact, the selections were so good, we often preferred to have our dinner in the buffet, instead of in the main dining room.
The Oceania Nautica Interior
I must say, we were very impressed with the ship’s interior and their extensive renovations completed, just a couple of seasons ago. Definitely a touch of class in elegance!
Let’s have a look inside this beautiful ship …
Guest Staterooms
As with any ship, you have a number of choices and decks to choose from. We chose a standard cabin with a porthole and outside view on Deck 3, and it worked out just fine for our Oceania Tahitian Legends Cruise.
Our stateroom was complete with a very squeaky clean bath and full shower.
The Nautica has a total of 11 decks, with 9 passenger decks.
We elected to save our money and spend a week on the island of Moorea and then a few days after our cruise, in Papeete.
It’s just a matter of personal choice and your travel budget.
Reception & Customer Service – Deck 4
The main reception and customer service area on the Oceania Nautica, was impressive to say the least. With an elegant stairway and chandelier that led to an upper deck.
This area definitely left a first impression with you, that of being on a more luxurious ship.
The concierge desk, destination services and staterooms are also located on deck 4.
Grand Dining Room – Deck 5
The Grand Dining Room
Located at the very stern of the ship, is the The Grand Dining Room and Baristas Grand Bar.
All our dinners in the dining were absolutely delicious, with excellent service from staff at all times. Below, is just a peek at what you can expect, when dining in the ships main dining room.
All our entree’s were beautifully presented and served to perfection!
Fine Dining Similar To A Michelin Star Rated Restaurant
Don’t forget to leave room for dessert.
They are to die for!
Baristas Grand Bar
Baristas Grand Bar is your go to place for specialty coffee’s and other select beverages.
Mid ship on this deck, is the Boutiques, Martinis Lounge and ships Casino.
Nautica Main Casino
Martinis Lounge
Continue on to the bow, where the main entertainment theater and lounge are located. Each evening there’s live entertainment production shows, for all guests to enjoy.
As well, expect various other entertainers making an appearance during your entire voyage.
Also and normally on sailing days, we enjoyed some very informative lectures in the theater.
Nautica Staterooms – Deck 6 thru 8
Deck 6, 7 and 8 are where the majority of all staterooms are located, offering a variety of suites from Penthouse, Outside Balcony and Inside staterooms.
Deck 8 is also where the Bridge can be found, at the ship’s Bow.
Terrace Cafe & Outdoor Recreation – Deck 9
Terrace Cafe
Located at the rear {stern} is the wonderful Terrace Cafe, with both inside air conditioned and outdoor deck seating.
Nautica Executive Chef
As mentioned, all meals served; breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Terrace Cafe Buffet Restaurant, were outstanding.
So much so, we chose to dine in the buffet for dinner on numerous occasions on our Oceania Tahitian Legends Cruise.
Deck 9 Pool & Recreation Area
Mid ship, you’ll find the swimming pool with 2 hot tubs, Waves Grill and cocktail bar.
Outdoor Salt Water Swimming Pool
Move along inside and this is where the Spa and Fitness Center are located.
Waves Cocktail Bar
Head inside and you’ll find an internet center off to the side and a comfortable card/games room for guests.
Oceania Nautica Internet Center
Oceania Nautica Games Room
Specialty Restaurants & More – Deck 10
Head on up to deck 10 and this is where the ship’s 2 specialty restaurants are located. The Polo Grill and Toscana.
Toscana Specialty Restaurant Nautica
We enjoyed dining at both, as part of our; Simply More Incentive Package, that was included when booking our Oceania Tahitian Legends Cruise. It felt as if we were Royalty in the quality of service and the meals served at both of these excellent restaurants.
The Polo Grill Specialty Dining Nautica
We also chose to be seated with other guests, which was so nice to meet and socialize with other guests from around the world.
The Polo Grill Appetizer
Mid ship on this deck is also a beautiful furbished library and further to the bow, the Horizon’s Bar, with commanding views from the front of the ship.
The Elegant Ship’s Library
The ships library, is like stepping into a personal library in someone’s luxurious mansion. It is absolutely beautiful, with the lavish interior decorating and furnishings.
There’s a huge assortment of books and magazines for guests to enjoy during they stay onboard. It’s also a great place to sit back, relax and escape for awhile.
Horizon’s Bar
Horizon’s Bar during the daytime, is a superb place to sit and relax and/or enjoy a cocktail. The bar is located at the very bow of the ship and there’s an excellent view out front!
At night, the atmosphere changes, with live entertainment and dancing into the wee hours.
Head outside on this deck and you will find a nice 360 degree fitness deck, to make laps on and burn those calories away, that you will consume on this cruise!
Continue up the stairs outside to deck 11 and at the bow, is a fun mini golf course and shuffleboard area.
We loved that this ship was smaller in size, yet with everything you would want on your cruise vacation.
Oceania Tahitian Legends Cruise Itinerary
I’ve listed our 10 day itinerary below, with a few added photos, for a little inspiration on what you can expect on this Tahitian Legends Cruise.

A few from our Airbnb accommodations in Tahiti. A great view from our deck, with the Island of Moorea in the distance.

Day 4 – Cruising
Day 5 – Nuku Hiva
Nuku Hiva is a scenic mountainous island with dense forests and beautiful beaches. It is the biggest of all the Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia.
Day 6 – Cruising
Day 7 – Rangiroa
Just another stunning atoll in the South Pacific. A perfect opportunity to swim and snorkel with the friendly sting rays and black tip sharks. Explore pearl farms and so much more.
Day 8 & 9 – Bora Bora
Without a doubt, the most well known of all the islands in the French Polynesia. It is known as the most romantic island in the world.
Known for its 2 impressive peaks Mount Pahia and Otemanu, make this island definitely, not to be missed!
Day 9 – Raiatea
This is the 2nd largest of the Society Islands and filled with history dating back 1000 years. Form its beautiful beaches, pearl and vanilla farms, there’s plenty to fill your day on this yet another, beautiful island in the South Pacific.
Day 10 – Papeete
There you have it! Just a look at our wonderful 10 day Oceania Tahitian Legends Cruise vacation. The staff onboard, service received and dining options, were outstanding.
The only thing that stood out about this particular itinerary and in speaking with other passengers, was the Port of Call at Fakarava.
This atoll is very small with few inhabitants. Other than a beach and bike rentals, there are no Shore Excursions or anything else to do at this location, which was quite surprising to many.
