RBC and Canadian Tire Corporation have launched a partnership that connects RBC debit and credit cards with Triangle Rewards®, allowing eligible cardholders to earn Canadian Tire Money at an accelerated rate across Canadian Tire’s network of retailers.
You can now earn 3x Canadian Tire Money on qualifying purchases at Canadian Tire, SportChek, Mark’s, and other participating locations.
How Does the Partnership Work?
You can simply head over to this page and sign in to your RBC Online Banking to link your Triangle Rewards® account.
If you do not have a Triangle Rewards® account yet, you can also sign up for free during the linking flow.

Once linked, you’ll earn 3x CT Money on qualifying purchases at participating locations when you scan your Triangle Rewards® card and pay with a linked RBC card.
For context, the base earning rate for Triangle Rewards® is 0.4 cents per dollar spent, so tripling that to 1.2 cents per dollar is a meaningful boost for frequent shoppers at Canadian Tire, SportChek, Mark’s, and other eligible stores.
You’ll also earn the usual rewards from your RBC card. For example, if you pay with your RBC® ION+™ Visa‡ Card, you’ll earn 1 Avion point per dollar spent on top of the 1.2 cents in CT Money.
How does the value compare with using a Canadian Tire Triangle™ World Elite® Mastercard?
While 3x (1.2%) is better than the base earning rate of 0.4%, it’s still below the earn rate on the Canadian Tire Triangle™ World Elite® Mastercard, which returns 4% in CT Money on qualifying purchases across Canadian Tire’s banners.

You can now earn 3x Canadian Tire Money with an eligible RBC card
In short, a linked RBC card plus 1.2% back in CT Money is a solid improvement over the base rate.
However, if you’re a frequent shopper at Canadian Tire stores, you may still see higher returns by paying with the Triangle™ World Elite® Mastercard at the till.
In addition, the card is known for bundling a Roadside Assistance Gold Plan membership that includes 24/7 assistance, fuel delivery, flat tire changes, battery boosts, lockout service, and towing up to 250 kilometres per service call in Canada and the U.S.
If you do not already pay for CAA (or have similar coverage via auto insurance), that benefit can be compelling.

For everyone else who does not drive or who already have coverage via CAA or insurance, the RBC–Canadian Tire partnership is best viewed as an extra topping.
You keep earning your RBC points and add a reliable 1.2% in CT Money at Canadian Tire group stores, as long as you remember to scan and pay with the linked card.
Conclusion
The RBC–Triangle Rewards integration provides a simple way to increase returns at Canadian Tire group stores.
If you already bank with RBC and shop these banners regularly, link your card, scan your Triangle Rewards®, and collect 1.2% CT Money on top of your usual RBC earn.
If you’re a heavy spender at Canadian Tire stores, you should still weigh the Canadian Tire Triangle™ World Elite® Mastercard higher in-ecosystem rewards and bundled Roadside Assistance, while RBC-centric cardholders can treat this partnership as incremental value on purchases that often fall outside common credit-card bonus categories.
