Celebrity Cruises has announced a $250 million investment to modernize its Solstice-class ships, starting with Celebrity Solstice sometime in 2026.
We sailed on Celebrity Solstice to the Mexican Riviera a couple of years ago, and while we still enjoyed the cruise, it was clear the ship was due for an update. So much felt outdated, especially in the cabin. This refresh feels long overdue.
The goal is to bring the Solstice-class ships more in line with the modern Edge-class aesthetic, both in design and experience. That means refreshed cabins, redesigned public spaces, upgraded restaurants, and enhancements to suite areas like The Retreat. The latest version of Le Petit Chef, Celebrity’s animated 3D dining experience, will also be rolled out consistently across the class. Digital upgrades and sustainability improvements are part of the plan too.
Celebrity Solstice is scheduled to enter dry dock in Singapore sometime in 2026. After that, Celebrity Equinox and the rest of the Solstice class will follow, with all upgrades expected to be complete by mid-2027.
These ships helped shape what the modern Celebrity experience looked like when they debuted—Solstice launched in 2008—but it’s time they caught up with the rest of the fleet. And based on what Celebrity has outlined so far, that’s exactly what’s happening.
